1st day in the city: from Eleftheria Square to Agia Varvara Park
Start your first day in Drama at the famous Agia Varvara Park. Let the greenery of the park take you to a unique natural environment in the center of the city, watch the events that take place in the park area throughout the year, the park is typical of the area and hosts the Rhodopes Information Center. You can admire the different species of duck that live in the ponds during your walk to the Archaeological Museum of Drama where you will arrange a guided tour of the Hellenistic tomb. Before departing for the tour, enjoy the view with breakfast or brunch at the surrounding restaurants.

You can continue the tour towards the center, after first visiting the homonymous Church of Agia Varvara, passing by the Museum of Photography – Marble House, do not miss visiting the exhibitions it hosts. Continuing, you will pass through the old city of Drama, where you will meet unique examples of a wonderful architecture, the Byzantine walls of Drama and churches with a long history. You can take a walk in the picturesque neighborhood that surrounds the church of Agia Sophia. A little further down you will find the street of Drama, Venizelou Street.

Sights of Drama
In the center of the city, you will find the churches of Agios Nikolaos, the Holy Church of Panmegisto Taxiarhon Michael – Gabriel and Muslim mosques of Drama that have been saved from the era of Turkish rule. Don’t forget to take a short break at the Municipal Garden and Eleftheria Square and continue to the Railway Station and the Train Museum! Afterwards you can tour the statue park and the Regeneration, where you can relax with a leisurely stroll.

2nd day in Doxato and Paranesti: Exploring the Prefecture of Drama

Start your second day, with a walk in the area of Doxatos. First, visit the Maleas Estate for a unique tour of the first oil mill to be visited! Then get to know the art of traditional halva at the “Eleftheriou” halva factory in Agios Athanasios. You can have your breakfast at the green Kefalari Springs of Drama and then head to the Art of Wine Estate in Mikrohori. Before continuing north, stop at Estate Deligiannis in Kyrgia, for an unforgettable agritourism experience and tasting with local vegetables.

In the Adriani area you will find famous wineries of Drama, such as the Domaine Costa Lazaridi, the Chateau Nico Lazaridi and the Oenogenesis Estate and the Manolesaki Estate which are characteristic of the area. A visit to the Park of Birds of Prey in the Agora of Drama should be included in your schedule. Then head to Paranesti, where you can visit the Natural History Museum, where you will get to know the nature of the area through the exhibits. Don’t miss to have lunch at the ENASTRON steak house with local products from the land of Paranestia.

A short Rafting ride on the Nestos River will enchant you, as the natural beauty of the landscape and the adventure will leave you with unique memories. Here you can Hike on beautiful paths and reach the Lepida Waterfall or the Old Keep Bridge.

3rd day in Kato Nevrokopi and Prosotsani: History of Drama

Start in the morning from the Sanctuary of Dionysus in Kali Vrysi, don’t forget to make an appointment with the Antiquities Tax Office of Drama first. Continue with a guided tour of the Pavlidis Estate and the Oenops winery, two wineries located in the oldest wine growing area of the Prefecture. Afterwards, visit the Aggitis River Cave and immediately go River Rafting. You can enrich your ride with a Cycling from the Menoiki Vineyards to the Aggiti Springs

Then head to Kato Nevrokopi where you will see Lisse Fort and you can walk the Fort Trail or you cycle from Agios Pavlos to the Forts and the Historical passages. You can also do other hiking routes such as the Tour of the artificial lake of Lefkogeion. Admire Falakro Oros and of course taste the local cuisine at the “Aloni tou kyr Thanasis” Tavern
