Every year, the city of Drama is transformed into a real fairytale world, hosting Oniroupolis, one of the biggest and most spectacular Christmas events in Greece. Oniroupoli started in 2004, as an initiative of the Municipality of Drama, with the aim of creating a thematic Christmas village that will offer visitors the magic of Christmas. Over the years, the event has evolved, growing in size and variety of activities, making Oniroupolis one of the most important Christmas events in Greece.
Oniroupoli is set up in the Municipal Garden and Freedom Square of Drama, turning the heart of the city into a fairytale world. The wooden houses, the Christmas markets, the impressive light decorations and the various themed corners compose a magical setting that delights young and old alike.
Oniroupoli offers a rich program of activities and events that cover all ages and preferences:
- Santa Claus House: Santa Claus is waiting for his little friends to take a picture with them and listen to their wishes.
- Christmas Markets: Small producers and shops offer traditional products, Christmas decorations and gifts.
- Performances and Events: Theatre, music concerts, dance performances and magic shows entertain visitors every day.
- Workshops and Games: A variety of workshops for children such as construction, painting and cooking, as well as games that provide endless fun.
