The carnival of Choristis dates back to the interwar period, where the residents on Clean Monday dressed up and gathered at the Primary School of Choristis, with floats that they built themselves. There, they gathered and held the great feast, the trano dance. The institution of the carnival of Choristis has not changed until today, on the contrary it improves and maintains unchanged the satirical elements and the tradition with the ten days of events that take place every year. The carnival of Choristis presents every year to the spectators a unique spectacle for our region, full of colors, satire, music and with the participation of young and old in the carnival parade. The roots of the ancestral custom of the Choristis carnival go back a long time. The inhabitants disguised themselves and gathered at the Primary School of Choristis, with floats which they built themselves. At the school, they gathered and held the big feast, the trano dance with the village Philharmonic, but also various musical orchestras. On Sunday, before Clean Monday, there was the traditional dance party of the residents, but also visitors from the neighboring villages, where everyone had fun in the Reading Room. Thus, this custom started since then, while over time there were two people, Leggo and Gokas, namely Eleni Pagonidou and Giorgos Samaras, who would rouse the whole village during the days of the Carnival. As the years went by, the residents began to participate more and more, each neighborhood now building its own chariot, which was manned by the people of each area, while everyone ended up in the Elementary School.
