The Museum of Ecclesiastical Art of Drama began operating in 1999. It is housed in the building of the former boarding school of the Metropolis of Drama where the blessed Metropolitan Dionysios had gathered many relics for preservation and safekeeping in the premises of the metropolis. Gradually the relics were preserved by Mr. Gerekos and found their place in the new museum.
On the first floor, folk art icons, wood-carved temple doorways and parts of church icons are housed. On the second floor, a pair of doors with the Annunciation of the Theotokos, Panagia Odegetria and the Lord of Blessings stand out, which probably come from the temple of Taxiarches in Drama. Also on display are many hierarchal vestments of the metropolitans of Drama, Grevena, Nevrokopi and Zichna. The most important, however, are the hierarchal vestments of the National Martyr Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Smyrna. On the third floor most of the exhibits are also folk style images. On the fourth floor all the exhibits are portable icons, many priestly and ministerial vestments. On the fifth floor there are many ecclesiastical vessels.
