Pavlidis Estate is located in Kokkinogeia, in the northwestern part of the prefecture of Drama, just 19 kilometers from the city of Drama. It was founded in 1998 by Christoforos
Pavlidis, who after a persistent search chose this area for the establishment of the vineyard and winery. Today, the privately owned vineyards of 800 acres are located in the areas of Kokkinogeia and Perichora Drama, two areas known for their vineyards since ancient times. The main goal of the Pavlidis Estate is the production of fine wines from Greek and international varieties, which bear the special character of the terroir of the area. This is one of the few wineries in Greece where, from 2005 until today, they carry out exclusively night harvest with the aim of the least possible strain on the grapes.
In particular, the Pavlidis Estate has to present the THEEMA family, with the white being born from the pairing of Assyrtiko with Sauvignon Blanc, the red the result of the coexistence of Agiorgitiko with Syrah and the rosé produced from grapes of the Spanish Tempranillo variety. Recently, ALMA, a new rosé wine, was released
with a bright soft salmon color, a blend of Agiorgitiko and Syrah varieties. Finally, there are the single-varietal EMPHASIS Assyrtiko, Agiorgitiko, Chardonnay, Syrah and Tempranillo, which are produced from selected plots of the estate.
The visit to the Pavlidis Estate includes: a tour of the privately owned Kokkinogei vineyard, weather permitting, and then to all areas of the production process. The visitors will be guided by a specialized partner in the winery, in a pioneering building, with an area of 3,000 sq.m. with minimal aesthetics and modern, simple lines that refer to the philosophy of the New World. This is followed by a tasting with a view of the winery’s underground aging cellars. The visit to the estate can be combined with a walk to the Cave of Aggitis, which is located approximately 5′ by car from the winery.
