In mid-September, the successful institution of the Drama Short Film Festival has been held for many years now, which has been enriched in recent years with the international section and many tributes.
The Drama Festival is a living organism that evolves and renews itself. Thus, in addition to the National Festival, in recent years the International Festival has also been held, where films by filmmakers from all over the world compete and are presented in parallel tributes. Already in the first year, the number of participants in the International Section is impressive. Indicative of the importance that young filmmakers attach to the Drama Festival is that many of them believe that their participation and award at the Festival will be a springboard, both for the recognition of their work and for their further artistic career. At the same time, the monetary value of the prizes makes their participation even more attractive.
Apart from these, the warm hospitality of the inhabitants of beautiful Drama, who embraced the institution from the first moment, the friendly environment and the contact between artists from different parts of the world, contribute to the creation of a special atmosphere, where the important thing is not both the award, as well as participation and contact with fellow artists. The Festival gives special importance not only to the screening of films but also to the creation of a friendly atmosphere. He believes that artists are not cut off from the world but live, breathe and have to have fun… Isn’t that what cinema is all about?
The Festival is in contact with other corresponding International Festivals, invites people from international cinema, who transmit their knowledge and experience to young filmmakers, organizes tributes to international cinemas, thus opening the way for artistic information but also for the necessary judgment and comparison . Thus, today the Drama Short Film Festival, both International and Greek, has evolved into a cultural organization, both national and international in scope.
