Tour of the artificial lake of Lefkogeia

The round of Lake Lefkogeion is a route of 14 kilometers and 170 meters of altitude difference. It is an easy ride on a well-marked trail.
The hiking route starts from the dam of the lake and follows a circular path. Where we start is where we end. There is parking for cars at the starting point.

Almost the entire route passes through a forest with pines and dense vegetation and there are many points with a view of the lake. The best time to visit is spring and autumn. In the spring, the hundreds of wild flowers and the increased water level of the lake create a beautiful natural environment. In autumn, the colors of the forest, due to the season, impress the visitor.
Lake Lefkogeia is located in the municipality of Kato Nevrokopi, specifically next to the village of Lefkogeia. The point is about 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from the city of Drama. The route is Drama, Kato Nevrokopi and then we take the road from Kato Nevrokopi to Potamos. About 5 kilometers after the traffic lights outside Nevrokopi, there is a sign on the road to Lefkogeia village. We follow the road for about 4 kilometers and on the right we can see the dam of the lake. Then we take the road that leads up to the dam and we reached the starting point of the route.
