Virgin Forest Trail

The Paranesti Virgin Forest Mountain Races as they are officially called or… much more simply Virgin Forest Trail as we are used to calling them, are one of the largest running events in Greece with races from 10 kilometers to 100 miles where hundreds of athletes participate and star every year.
The main race of Paranesti reaches 100 miles while the event, having gone through many organizational changes, has settled down to a specific format which neither more nor less includes six racing routes for all tastes and abilities:

Virgin Forest Ultra Trail (VFUT): 162km, 6887m D+, Limit 40 hours
Nature Trail (NTR): 110km, 4675m D+, 24-hour limit
Paranesti Path (PP): 46km, 1930 D+, 8-hour limit
Nestos Trail (NT): 10km
Alkimoi Children I & II: 1,200m – 2,500m for children 10-13 and 14-17 years old respectively
Special VFT: 800m for people with special abilities
